CT TRUST FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION
The CT Trust for Historic Preservation is a private non-profit organization committed to the stewardship of historic places that contribute to the heritage, economy and quality of life in Connecticut communities. Based in Hamden, the Trust works throughout the state providing education, technical assistance, and grants and loans to property owners, developers and communities to repair, re-use and repurpose historic buildings, structures and landscapes. The Trust also protects historic properties by accepting easements and advocating for historic preservation policies in the public and private sectors.
Wes Haynes is the Trust’s Co-Director, responsible for external partnerships. Wes has four decades of experience in historic preservation working on the staffs of architectural firms and non-profit organizations in New York and New Jersey. He joined the Trust staff in 2013 as Project Director of the Making Places initiative to inventory and stimulate re-investment in Connecticut’s
historic industrial places. The Value of Historic Preservation will review the positive impacts historic preservation has made in Connecticut’s towns and cities, illustrated by success stories, since becoming public policy in the 1960s.
