SPEAKERS: AUGUSTO RUSSELL, CIC– PRINCIPAL, INSURANCE PROVIDER GROUP

AND DANIEL SALAZAR, CEO—NOVUS INSIGHT INC.

Augusto
is a Certified Insurance Counselor with 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry. In 2000, Augusto left his insurance career to work as the Director of Development for HOPE worldwide New England, a faith-based NGO in Andover, Massachusetts. In 2003, Augusto resumed his insurance career with May, Bonee & Walsh, Inc. (now Insurance Provider Group), an independent insurance agency. He has developed exclusive insurance programs for CT Auto Dealers, Churches, Nonprofits and Human Service Organizations. Augusto received the CT Agent of the Year award in 2015 and the National Agent of the Year in 2016. He chairs the Economic Development Commission for the Town of Farmington and is President of the Board for The Arc of the Farmington Valley (Favarh). He holds a BA from Tufts University (cum laude).

Dan is a passionate learner and jack of all trades, Dan’s curiosity lead him through positions as diverse as working as a defense-industry contractor focused on torpedo and vertical launch missiles, to automotive work, to application development. Dan started his professional career in K-12 education as a teacher but transitioned to managing his school district’s IT network. From these experiences, Dan made the decision to leave teaching and pursue a transition to IT operations and eventually IT administrative management. Dan helped found the technology services group that has grown into Novus Insight. As CEO of Novus, Dan is committed to learning about new technology and using technology to help public and nonprofit organizations. Currently, he is focused on cooperating with Novus's parent company, CCAT, to increase security and compliance with aerospace supply chain manufacturers, municipal government, and public safety. Dan’s education includes a BS from the University of CT in Psychology and an MA from Marlboro College in Internet Technologies.
