To my fellow members:
Just a week back, we had a speaker/dinner meeting at a very nice local restaurant. If you didn’t attend, I can tell you that you missed out on some really great information. Being the Connecticut native and business person that I am, it was very inspiring to hear how the state is marketing itself. The state is doing something right, as we are seeing improvements in the number of people locating to CT. And this really bodes well for future growth and jobs, which is good news for all of us. So, this is a good example of the great CPE events we offer to you, our members. Check out our program calendar for future and past events.
If you feel left out now (and you should), then just RSVP and put an entry on your calendar to attend the next event which will be held at a popular brewery in my town. We were there a couple years ago and we had a blast, in addition to eating an amazing variety of pizza and catching up with old and new friends alike. The event is on the last Tuesday of the month, April 30th. The focus of this event is networking and socializing with fellow professionals. The pizza and salad are free and the beer is chilled, so come out and have some fun with us!
And here’s an important reminder… if you know some business students who want to hear from HR resources and Finance/Data Professionals about career tracks, then send them a link to the upcoming Student Leadership event hosted at Salve Regina University in beautiful Newport, RI on Saturday, April 20th. Our IMA NorthEast Regional Council has assembled a great cast of professionals to speak to the students and there will be an opportunity to tour one of the mansions. Spread the word and do a little indirect mentoring of our up and coming professionals attending New England/NY schools. And consider attending yourself; you can meet and speak with students as well as hear what’s on other professionals minds.
